🏀 Borderland Teams Fall in Area Round Openers; Seven Still Alive Friday
EL PASO, Texas — It was a tough start to the Area Round for Borderland programs, as all four local teams in action Thursday were eliminated from postseason play. But the region still has a strong presence in the bracket, with seven teams set to compete Friday in hopes of advancing.
Thursday Area Round Results
❌ Mountain View High School falls to Randall
Randall controlled the tempo early and never let Mountain View settle, earning an 84–54 win to end the Lobos’ season. Despite the loss, Mountain View finishes with a strong year highlighted by a district championship share and 20+ wins.
❌ San Elizario High School falls to West Plains
West Plains’ defensive pressure proved too much in a 55–25 victory, closing the Eagles’ playoff run.
❌ Bowie High School falls to Seminole
Bowie battled but couldn’t overcome a strong Seminole squad in a 73–62 loss, ending a competitive postseason push.
❌ Eastlake High School falls to North Crowley
North Crowley’s size and depth made the difference in a 73–57 win, eliminating Eastlake.
