Week of February 23, 2026 | Final Regular Season Rankings
District play has officially wrapped across the Borderland, and the postseason is now here. The final BSR Boys Basketball Power Rankings reflect the full body of work from the regular season β including rivalry wins, road toughness, late-season momentum, and overall consistency.
These rankings also take into account which teams appear best positioned to make deep playoff runs as the stakes rise and every possession matters.
Compiled weekly by the Borderland Sports Report analysts, this final edition sets the stage for what promises to be an exciting and unpredictable postseason.
#1 Americas Trail Blazers (12β0 | 24β9)
Americas closes the regular season as the undisputed top team in the Borderland. Riding a 12-game winning streak and an undefeated district record, the Trail Blazers have been dominant on both ends of the floor. Their chemistry, defensive pressure, and ability to control tempo make them one of the most dangerous teams entering the playoffs. If they continue to execute at this level, a deep run is expected.
#2 Chapin Huskies (9β1 | 24β8)
The Huskies responded the way championship teams do. After seeing their historic district winning streak come to an end, Chapin regrouped and finished the regular season strong. Their toughness, defensive identity, and experience in pressure moments will make them a difficult matchup for anyone in the bracket.
#3 Eastlake Falcons (10β2 | 28β8)
Eastlake secured the outright 1-6A District Title but enters the postseason looking to reset after dropping their final two games. The Falcons remain one of the most complete teams in the region. Their size, depth, and ability to play fast give them a high ceiling if they can regain rhythm quickly.
#4 El Dorado Aztecs (10β2 | 21β9)
The Aztecs battled all season and were in position to claim a share of the district title until the final night. Their physicality and defensive discipline have defined their identity. El Doradoβs postseason success will hinge on execution in close games and their ability to control pace.
#5 Burges Mustangs (8β2 | 21β11)
Few teams improved more this season than Burges. After one of the biggest turnarounds in the city, the Mustangs head into the playoffs with confidence and momentum. Their guard play and offensive efficiency make them a legitimate threat in the Bi-District round and beyond.
#6 Franklin Cougars (7β5 | 23β9)
Franklin remains one of the most intriguing teams in the field. When focused and playing with purpose, the Cougars can compete with anyone. Consistency will be the key. If Franklin finds its rhythm early in the postseason, they could quickly become a dangerous matchup.
#7 Bel Air Highlanders (8β4 | 25β7)
The Highlanders surged late and enter the playoffs riding a four-game winning streak. Their balance, improved defense, and growing confidence make them a team no one wants to see. Bel Air appears to be peaking at the right time.
#8 Andress Eagles (7β3 | 22β9)
One of the most athletic teams in the Borderland, Andress has the ability to make a deep playoff run if they remain disciplined. Their speed, transition scoring, and defensive potential give them a high ceiling, but execution will determine how far they go.
β‘ #9 Coronado Thunderbirds (7β5 | 19β12)
Perhaps the biggest surprise of the season, Coronado exceeded expectations and battled their way into the postseason. The Thunderbirds continue to improve and now face the challenge of stepping up offensively when it matters most.
#10 Montwood Rams (7β5 | 24β12)
Montwood made a strong late push but narrowly missed the playoff picture. Despite that, the Rams proved they can compete with the top teams in the city and showed resilience throughout district play. Their growth this season sets the foundation for the future.
The Road Ahead
With the regular season complete, the focus now shifts to playoff execution. Momentum, matchups, and mental toughness will define who advances and who goes home. The Borderland has proven all year that no night is guaranteed, and the postseason promises even more drama.
