EL PASO, Texas — Two district championships were finalized Tuesday night, completing the 2025-26 girls basketball district picture across the Borderland.


District 1-4A and 1-5A were officially decided, joining previously clinched titles in 2-4A, 2-5A, and 1-6A as the postseason bracket takes shape.


Here’s a complete look at this year’s district champions:

🏆 District 1-4A Co-Champions


Mountain View High School

(9-1 district, 21-12 overall)


Riverside High School

(9-1 district, 16-15 overall)


Mountain View and Riverside finished tied atop the standings at 9-1, earning co-champion honors after a tightly contested district race that was finalized Tuesday night.


🏆 District 2-4A Champion

Irvin High School

(7-1 district, 20-9 overall)


Irvin secured the 2-4A title with a disciplined 7-1 district run and a 20-win overall season.


🏆 District 1-5A Champion

Americas High School

(11-1 district, 27-4 overall)


Americas officially locked up the 1-5A championship Tuesday night, finishing 11-1 in district play and 27-4 overall. Their consistency throughout the season positions them among the Borderland’s top playoff contenders.


🏆 District 2-5A Champion

Burges High School

(10-0 district, 23-7 overall)


Burges completed an undefeated 10-0 district campaign, establishing themselves as one of the most disciplined and balanced teams in 5A entering postseason play.


🏆 District 1-6A Champion

Montwood High School

(12-0 district, 24-5 overall)


Montwood dominated 6A competition, finishing a perfect 12-0 in district and 24-5 overall. Their undefeated district run highlights one of the most complete seasons in the region.


Playoff Momentum

With district championships now finalized, the focus shifts to bi-district matchups.


Two undefeated champions — Burges (10-0) and Montwood (12-0) — headline the field, while Americas’ 27-win season underscores the depth at the top of 5A.
