Going into Thursday, 27 February 2020, a total of ten (10) Borderland teams were still playing in the UIL Boys Basketball Playoffs. Each team approached their game wanting to win and advance in the field.
It all kicked off on Thursday with boys' basketball team from Chapin High School. In a close battle, Chapin would lose to Rider High School by a score of 35 to 30, bring the first of the Borderland teams to close out their season this week.
On Friday, 28 February 2020, a total of eight (8) Borderland teams were slated to play. In the end, only two teams would punch their tickets to the next round (Clint and Eastwood), while the rest would have an unceremonious end to their season.

Lastly; on Saturday, 28 February 2020 Andress High School would close out play for Borderland teams in the Area playoffs. Andress would have a hard faught battle between Monterey High School. But in the vain of Jim Valvano and the '82-'83 N.C. State Wolfpack Men's Basketball ball team -- "Survive and advance" -- with a 48 to 46 victory.
In the end, a total of three (3) teams from the Borderland would continue their pursuit of a UIL Boys' Basketball State Championship (4A -- Clint High School, 5A -- Eastwood High School and Andress High School).
Clint High School (27-5) will face off against Levelland High School (26-9) on Tuesday, 3 March 2020, at 6:00 pm in the Regional Quarter Finals (The Sweet 16). The game will take place at in Monahans, TX at the Rip Griffin Center.
Eastwood High School (28-7) and Andress High School (30-3) will face off against each other in a huge Borderland High School match-up in the UIL Boys' Basketball Regional Playoffs. Date, location and time for this match up is TBD.
